Amazon Rivers of Peru - Vision: Build a strong, growing network of churches to reach all the people along the Amazon River and tributaries in Peru.
Strategies for the River Churches
-
Extension Bible School
ITC-We have tried Video Bible Training but had many technical problems with the lack of experience, poor electricity and high humidity in the towns and villages along the rivers. Often it is difficult to get a the people to go through the whole long course due to the day-to-day nature of their lives.
Extension Bible School Booklets - We have found that little booklets work the best for the leadership training in the villages. We give them to the leader of each village church and they study the material and prepare to teach and preach from the booklets to their congregation.
Partner with us in this Venture: We need to build a fund for printing these booklets.

Regular visits to the communities
Weekenders - In addition to the booklets for Bible Training, a big part of the strategy to build the village churches is for Pastor Warring to visit and do in- person training, discipleship and ministry.
The Plan - is to empower and help some of the KEY LEADERS to make these visits and teaching seminars to the villages near them.
During the pandemic we had some leaders get discouraged and falter because of the lack of someone visiting them.
Please pray with us so we can continue to help Pastor Warring make the trips up the different rivers and visit all the churches.
Please pray for the finances to send a team every month.

Yearly Conference in Santa Clotilde and In Iquitos
AFCM Family Reunions are so important for the brothers and sisters and kids from all of the churches along the rivers. It is the time of year that we all get together and fellowship for several days with personal conversations and its a great opportunity to plant the seed of the Word of God into their lives and minister to the needy who come. We also do a separate Family Reunion in Iquitos for those who live on the Amazon River, Tapiche River and other smaller rivers that have difficulty getting to the Santa Clotilde meeting because of the distance.
Getting to the villages with local transportation.
So since we no longer have the Josiah and or speedboats the local “peque-peque” long tail boat is the transportation of choice. It is economical and cheap to maintain. It does take a long time to arrive and the comfort is not all that great but you get there and its within the budget.
